“The only way to address this crisis and the associated instability and uncertainty,” says Seven, “is to use as much technology as possible.” And Sofia adds: “You must constantly develop yourself. You need to update yourself every day. ”
FACTORY GIRL — Mediterranean breakfast and modern technology
The owner of FACTORYGIRL, Sofia D. Sözen, uses Luca to make the process more efficient for her guests and her team.
For Sofia and Seven, the crux of the matter is the intelligent automation of processes. Four years ago, FACTORY GIRL, for example, was the first Berlin restaurant to stop accepting cash. This saves time, both during the payment process and during billing. “At peak times,” says Seven, “saving 10 or 15 seconds per process can be a game changer. ”
Easy digital tools
FACTORY GIRL introduced digital food and drink menus early on. Thanks to the photos of every dish and drink, the guests usually already know what they want and the service staff can take orders more quickly. Seven regards this optimization of processes as user-friendly, as it has significantly reduced waiting times for guests. “People today expect digital tools that are easy to use,” explains Seven and Sofia adds: “The way we think is changing. People don't want to read long descriptions on menus anymore. That's why the most intuitive way to access a menu is the best. That is a super important point. ”
” With Luca, you give the guest a lot of independence. He pays, gets up and leaves. It really saves time. That is automation.

More tips thanks to Luca
Since guests at FACTORY GIRL can pay with Luca Pay, the tips for service staff have increased significantly. Seven says: “The fact that the option to tip is integrated into the Luca app payment process has really helped our employees. And that's good for us too, of course. ”
Take responsibility
It is also important for Sofia and Seven to assume social responsibility. They donate 1% of the company's profit to companies that develop climate-friendly technologies. In addition, they do not throw away slightly damaged dishes, but give students the opportunity to pick up crockery for their shared apartments in return for a donation of a few cents. “The feedback from young people about this campaign is overwhelming,” says Sofia, “it makes me very happy. ”
